SNOW BUSINESS
LIKE, UM SNOW BUSINESS...

Here are some of
the pictures we took from the snow that landed here
in Texas. I think the news said it was the
biggest/best snowfall we'd seen in 18 years. Just so
happened we were up drinking when it started. That
last one was made by the lovely talented Cynthia, in
like five minutes on photoshop.

HOTEL SHENANIGANS...
We just got back from Austin this afternoon,
helping Mike with his picture HIGH FIVE. For the
most part we had a great time, but opted to stay and
fuck around in the hotel. In Austin. This 2
minute tape is the end result.

GOOD NEWS/BAD NEWS...

THE
GOOD:
We now have an awesome
new
miniDV camera
too shoot with.
THE BAD: I'm
sorry to announce but our series
DORK AND BIG SIR
will not be ready to go in March. I may just be
getting ahead of myself with this, but I'm not
confident in it yet. So, it's halted for now.

Wizard World
Fantastica
or 'Better Late Than Never'
By Joe Franks
Should have posted this a while
back when it was fresh, but ended up not. It was
originally pushed on AMC.com, but I really wanted to
tell the others that frequent our site the tale as
well.....
If you’re not familiar with the above name, it’s
not a convention of wizards, or worlds, or wizard’s
worlds. It a comic convention, and a first time in
Texas for
Wizard World. There wasn’t much to be said about the
con itself. It was pretty small, my guess is they
were testing to see if there was a point to even
holding one in Texas. Who knows exactly. Either way,
it was quite small and could be looked at in whole
in around an hour. Of course yours truly would’ve
taken longer, as he was diggin’ on the bootlegs
(alas no Parker Lewis Can’t Lose eps were to be
found) and on the Japanese import dvds. On a side
note, I picked up VERSUS and recommend it.
Fuck, I’m terrible about trailing
off on other topics, soI’ll ‘cut to the chase’ as
the kids say. Okay, you see I’m sure everyone has
something they consider a turning point in their
lives. Be it the first time you had sex with the
opposite sex (or same, I’m not judging here), a bad
incident that turned out with positive results, or
in my case, the first time I watched Clerks. That
was a defining moment (I’ll get into it later,
maybe) for me, as I like Mr. Smith with Slacker, saw
it and thought ‘Say, I could do that!’. It was at
that point I became interested in making movies.
Okay, kinda trailing off again. Well that Sunday was
another turning point in my life. I met the man
himself. Kevin Smith.
When I say met, not just met, but hung out with
Mr. Smith and Mr. Mewes. No, we didn’t go get beers
and talk about ‘chicks an’ stuff’, but myself and
Chad (partner in crime) volunteered at said
convention, and acted as nerd patrol for them. That,
dear readers, was the convention to me. We were
lucky enough to sit with them, and Mewes
requested Chad to get his cd’s out of his room.
(apparently the crap sock hop music on the loud
speaker, was the suck) It was a trip to say the
least. It doesn’t sound like much in type, but just
to be there. It was an amazing experience. Not only
that, but they were actually cool. The most down to
earth people as your best friend. Kevin seemed (and
what I perceived as) genuine in every thanks he gave
to a fan. That’s a rare quality, I tell you. As we
were leaving, Kevin shook my hand, I told him what
an inspiration Clerks and Chasing Amy are to me.
Yeah, he locked eyes, and said with the most genuine
look, ‘Thanks, man. That means a lot. Really.’
I tell you what, that Mewes was amazingly great
with us too. I mean they took the time out to…learn
our names. Bryan Johnson (Steve-Dave from the
flicks) and I even held a brief conversation about
Vulgar and how the nay sayers can suck the cock.
Insignificant to them (maybe), liquid awesome to us.
As I wrote this, I was still buzzing from stupid
fanboy glow. Listening to my Chasing Amy soundtrack.
I’ll find out tomorrow that since my inspection
sticker isn’t renewed I’ll have a hefty fine on my
shoulders. I won’t care.
I met two of the coolest cats on this side of the
planet that Sunday. |

Comics Up...
I just scanned and re-sized some
comics I made a while back. Enjoy. Note the
comics link to the left or click
here. They're nothing special but a few
have found them funny so maybe you will too. If not, grab a
sense of humor and come back and re-read them. If that
doesn't work, well then return that sense of humor and grab
a newer one, and see if that works. It should. If not try
another store.

NEW WWWBOARD...
I just registered a
board over at
Voy.com for a new 'for now' board. So if
you're visiting and hate/love the videos, have any feedback,
or just want to bs about nothing in particular,
this is the place to do it.
This will also be the place that
random news (about the site) and other bs will be. The only
real rules that will be enforced are: No hate posts. (use
common sense, no racial, rape, or dead cow jokes) and try
not to be lazy. (i.e. don't go with 'dood ur so lame 2 the
extreemy!11! LOL', try out 'Dude, you're so lame to the
extreme!') So, kick back and enjoy the ride. (until I figure
out how to make a really real board.)

DORK AND BIG SIR TRAILER IS UP!!
After a few hours and two
trailers later, I finally put one together that I really
dig. Hopefully it will catch your attention long enough to
wait for the first episode. For the record, DORK AND BIG SIR
will be starring Josh Sherwin and Scott Houck, and will be
premiering in March. Oh, and
email me with your feedback, or post on
the board about them, as I'm eager to hear all your
thoughts. (trailer music by

We just got back from
Sundance Square shooting the trailer for the new (and first)
ongoing (monthly) series for rulestheschool.com. And, damnit,
I can't hold out any longer. The above image is from the
shoot, and I'll have the trailer up this week, hopefully
Wednesday. I'm sure you can read, so looking at the picture
you can figure out the title. (HINT: it's not 'coming
soon...') I'm really excited to get the first episode edited
and online, so keep it tuned.

New Clip
THE BEST THREE WAY EVER
Just something I threw
together tonight, cause I got the Adobe Premiere bug. Fuck,
I can't wait to start shooting some more stuff. At any rate,
enjoy this one. It's short, and kinda funny too. It started
out as Chad and Josh fighting, and ended with this stinky
little clip.

New Short
THE FRENCH ARE GAY ASSHOLES
Originally to be a retarded
spoof on Jon Moody's OUTCAST (a short shot over a year ago,
that's equally weak), it was deemed a piece of shit and
never made it to the web. Well, I was bored today and
decided to take the footage that we shot, and record sound
clips of me with a horrible french accent. So, enjoy it
while I enjoy some nachos.

New Year, New Look
Once
again, I asked myself - "Me?". 'Yes?' I replied. "Isn't it
time to go ahead and make a whole so fresh so clean clean
look for the site?" Of course me being the pushover I am,
answered with a quick 'Of course! Let's get crackin'!' being
frightened to death of me. So here it is: new year, new
look. Enjoy folks. 2004 holds nothing but great things for
us. As you can see more links have been added. We'll see how
everything works out and go from there. I'm currently
learning how to make and maintain the wwwboard, so that'll
be up soon. For now I've simply linked to AMC's forum. I'll
get his permission sooner or later.
